ELAVON – ADD A DEVICE

These instructions outline the process for adding a device to a merchant account in Valor Pay Tech 

using the Elavon payment gateway.

Prerequisites:

•  An active merchant account in Valor Pay Tech.

•  A Var Sheet created in the Elavon portal for the device.

Steps:

1. Create the Var Sheet in Elavon Portal:

        •  Log in to the Elavon portal.

        •  Follow the instructions provided by Elavon to create a Var Sheet for the device. This sheet will 

        contain the necessary device details, including the Merchant

        Identification Number (MID) and Terminal Identification Number (TID).

2. Navigate to the Merchant Account in Valor Pay Tech:

        •  Access the Merchant Management section in Valor Pay Tech.

        •  Locate the specific merchant account for which you want to add the device

        •  Select "Add Device"

3. Populate Device Information:

        •  Device Name

        •  Device: Select the type of device from the available options

        •  Processor: Choose "Elavonpay" from the dropdown menu.

4. Choose Pricing Platform

        •  Cash Discount & Surcharge OR

        • Traditional

5. Populate Payment Gateway Information from the Var Sheet

        •  MID (Merchant Identification Number) – Terminal ID number seen on the Var Sheet excluding the 

        last three digits. See image below

        •  TID (Terminal Identification Number) – Terminal ID number seen on the Var sheet – enter only the 

        last three digits. See image below

    •  Bank ID: Enter "007542" (remains constant for all Elavon accounts).

Note:

        •  Ensure the MID and TID are correctly entered as they are critical for proper payment 

processing.

        •  The provided Bank ID should be used for all Elavon accounts.

Upon completing these steps, the device will be added to the merchant account in Valor Pay Tech and 

connected to the Elavon payment gateway.
