This error is caused when Communication type in BroadPOS is set to com1 or anything else other than Ethernet (OR LAN) or The IP address on the POS and the pinpad don't match.
STEPS FOR CHANGING COMMUNICATION TYPE:
1. To change this setting, go into the File Build of the machine you are provisioning and go under the communications tab
2. Make sure that both Primary Communication type as well as backup Communication type are both checked off as LAN (OR ETHERNET)
some machines even have another section for communications between the pinpad and POS, in which case you also want to put LAN or Ethernet
Steps for making sure IP address match on the POS and the Pax:
1. From the main screen go to management
2. Go to Hardware
3. Hit the payment tab (1) and then hit password (2). the password will be neo3636
4. On the screen you will see ip address, there you can change the IP address to the correct one you see on the pax terminal. (TSYS SIERRA)
